LEBANESE FARE

IN METRO DETROIT

For more than 50 years, Chickpea Hospitality’s flagship restaurant has charmed diners with refined Lebanese-American fare served in upscale, white-linen digs. Operated by Sameer Eid and his family since 1971, the original Highland Park restaurant relocated to the Detroit suburb of Birmingham a decade later, where it evolved to become the crown jewel of Middle Eastern dining in Michigan we know and love today.

A pioneer of Middle Eastern cuisine in the Midwest, Phoenicia over the years has fed countless diners looking for a more refined treatment of Lebanese food. Now proudly serving its fourth generation of regulars, Phoenicia continues to set the standard for excellence in hospitality, building on the meticulous attention to detail and commitment to the quality of its charismatic founder and longtime operator, Sameer Eid.

“Phoenicia is one of the longest continuously running family restaurants in the area (in either dog or human years), and for more than four decades, it’s succeeded in setting the highest bar for Middle Eastern food in metro Detroit.”
